Biblical Love vs. Cultural Love

February 2026 Study

❤️ Week 2 · Day 11Love Does Not Celebrate Sin

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:6 (NKJV)“[Love] does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth.”

Cultural love often equates acceptance with affirmation. It tells us that loving someone means celebrating whatever they choose, even when it contradicts God’s Word. Scripture gives us a different standard. Biblical love does not rejoice in sin—it rejoices in truth.

This does not mean love is harsh or condemning. It means love refuses to call darkness light. Love cares too deeply to applaud what harms the soul. True love longs for freedom, holiness, and restoration. It celebrates repentance, growth, and alignment with God’s truth.

Jesus never celebrated sin, but He always pursued sinners with compassion and grace. That is our model. Biblical love is not silent about sin, nor is it cruel about it. It stands firmly on truth while extending mercy.

Reflection:Have I confused affirmation with love in areas where God calls for truth?

Prayer:“Lord, guard my heart from celebrating what You have called sin. Help me love others in a way that rejoices in Your truth and seeks their freedom.”
