Feb 2026 Day 5, Biblical Love Vs. Cultural Love

Biblical Love vs. Cultural Love

February 2026 Study

❤️ Week 1 · Day 5 Love Seeks God’s Glory, Not Self

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NKJV) “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Cultural love often asks, “How does this make me feel?” or “What do I get out of this?” Biblical love asks a different question: “Does this glorify God?” When love becomes centered on personal fulfillment, it slowly drifts away from its true purpose.

God-centered love is not driven by convenience or self-interest. It seeks to honor God in attitude, words, and actions. This kind of love chooses obedience over impulse and faithfulness over comfort. It understands that love is not about drawing attention to ourselves, but about reflecting the character of Christ.

When our love points others to God rather than ourselves, it becomes a powerful testimony. True biblical love is not self-seeking—it is God-glorifying.

Reflection: In what areas of my life have I allowed love to become more about me than

about God?

Prayer: “Lord, realign my heart so that my love brings glory to You. Help me love others in a way that reflects Your character, not my own desires.”
