Feb 6 2026- Day 6, Biblical Love Vs. Cultural Love

Biblical Love vs. Cultural Love

February 2026 Study

❤️ Week 1 · Day 6Love Requires Surrender

Scripture: Luke 9:23 (NKJV)“Then He said to them all, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.’”

Cultural love seeks comfort, control, and self-preservation. It often avoids anything that costs too much. Biblical love calls us to something deeper—surrender. Jesus makes it clear that following Him requires denying self and choosing obedience daily.

Love that reflects Christ will always involve sacrifice. It may cost convenience, pride, personal preference, or control. But surrender is not loss—it is trust. When we surrender our will to God, love becomes more than emotion; it becomes an act of obedience and worship.

True biblical love is shaped at the cross. It lays down self so Christ can be seen. When we surrender to God, our love grows stronger, purer, and more aligned with His heart.

Reflection:What is God asking me to surrender so that I can love rightly?

Prayer:“Jesus, help me deny myself and follow You daily. Teach me to love through surrender and obedience, not self-interest.”
