January 7th, 2026- The Book of John

Day 7 of 31 — John 7

Scripture (John 7:37, NKJV)

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.”

Some thirst is obvious—fatigue, pressure, stress, the weight of responsibility. But the deeper thirst is quieter: the need to feel steady, forgiven, clean, hopeful, and truly alive inside.

In John 7, Jesus stands in the middle of a crowded, religious moment and makes a personal invitation: “If anyone thirsts…” Not “if the strong thirst.” Not “if the perfect thirst.” Anyone. That includes the worn out, the disappointed, the struggling, and the ones trying to keep it all together.

Then He gives the remedy: “Come to Me.”

Not “clean yourself up first.” Not “prove yourself.” Just come. Because the real refreshment your soul needs is not a temporary fix—it’s Jesus Himself. And when you come to Him, the goal isn’t only that you’re filled… it’s that you begin to overflow. (John 7:38)

Today, don’t just manage your thirst—bring it to the Source. Let Jesus refill what the world keeps draining.

Practical application

• Name your thirst: What am I truly craving right now—peace, hope, strength, direction?

• Take one “come to Jesus” step: 5 minutes in John 7 + honest prayer before you jump into the day.

• Ask God not only to fill you, but to overflow through you to someone else today.

Jesus, I confess I’m thirsty in places I can’t always explain. Today I come to You. Fill me with Your presence, Your truth, and Your peace. Let what You pour into me become living water that overflows into my home, my work, and my community. In Your name, amen.
